Por este motivo, ha querido \u201cregalar\u201d a los aficionados nuevas muestras de su clase con <em>In My Dreams<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>La carrera del m\u00fasico de Baltimore est\u00e1 llena de momentos cumbres en la historia del jazz moderno. Desde entonces: <em>Have a Little Faith<\/em>, <em>This Land, Good Dog<\/em>, <em>Happy Man<\/em>, <em>Richter 858<\/em>, <em>East\/West<\/em>, <em>Bill Frisell, Ron Carter, Paul Motian<\/em>, <em>Small Town<\/em>, <em>Epistrophy<\/em>, etc\u2026 Una constelaci\u00f3n de grandes obras que han colocado a Frisell en lo m\u00e1s alto del pedestal de la m\u00fasica contempor\u00e1nea, tanto por sus composiciones como por su \u00fanico estilo como guitarrista.<\/p>\n<p><em>In My Dreams <\/em>funciona tanto como retrospectiva como afirmaci\u00f3n de una est\u00e9tica y un lenguaje musical que lleva d\u00e9cadas refinando. Dos m\u00fasicos habituales de Frisell, Thomas Morgan (contrabajo) y Rudy Royston (bater\u00eda), le acompa\u00f1an en la r\u00edtmica; adem\u00e1s, se completa con una secci\u00f3n de cuerdas de aut\u00e9ntico lujo: Jenny Scheinman (viol\u00edn), Eyvind Kang (viola) y Hank Roberts (violonchelo), participantes en muchos de sus proyectos.<\/p>\n<p>El disco consta de doce temas, ocho de los cuales est\u00e1n grabados en conciertos de 2025 en ciudades como Nueva York o Denver, y los otros se a\u00f1adieron posteriormente en el estudio.<\/p>\n<p>Se abre con \u201cTrapped in the Sky\u201d, lleno de armon\u00edas oscuras entre el viol\u00edn de Jenny Scheinman y la viola de Eyvind Kang. Toda la pieza introduce un motivo mel\u00f3dico que parece estar suspendido en el aire. Destaca la reinterpretaci\u00f3n del cl\u00e1sico \u201cIsfahan\u201d de Billy Strayhorn: Frisell reduce el <em>est\u00e1ndar<\/em> a una melod\u00eda casi desnuda, sin virtuosismo, y se centra en variaciones t\u00edmbricas y silencios.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHard Times\u201d conecta con la tradici\u00f3n folk estadounidense, algo que, por otra parte, es muy caracter\u00edstico de Frisell. La pieza que da t\u00edtulo al disco es una de las m\u00e1s cinematogr\u00e1ficas, tanto que podr\u00eda ser una banda sonora de un paisaje nocturno. Comienza con acordes suspendidos de guitarra, con la viola de Eyvind Kang a\u00f1adiendo un tono oscuro que contrasta con el lirismo del viol\u00edn de Scheinman.<\/p>\n<p>El cierre del trabajo, \u201cHome on the Range\u201d, es una interpretaci\u00f3n de un tema tradicional que Frisell toca con una simplicidad casi infantil; tiene un tono nost\u00e1lgico y ligeramente melanc\u00f3lico. El final se disuelve lentamente, como si la m\u00fasica se desvaneciera.<\/p>\n<p>Con <em>In My Dreams<\/em>, Bill Frisell ha vuelto a uno de los territorios que mejor domina: el de la m\u00fasica contemplativa, introspectiva, h\u00edbrida y profundamente norteamericana, donde el jazz, el folk y la m\u00fasica de c\u00e1mara conviven sin fronteras claras.<\/p>\n<p>Es evidente que el sonido puede resultar muy familiar a los viejos seguidores, ya que no contiene grandes sorpresas en su peculiar lenguaje.
