En ese recorrido aparecen, c\u00f3mo no, una mayor\u00eda de temas tradicionales\u00a0 (\u00abSee See Rider\u00bb, \u00abMiner&#8217;s Child\u00bb, \u00abTranpin'\u00bb, \u00abShoo-Rye\u00bb, \u00abI&#8217;m Going Home\u00bb, \u00ab, Cornbread Crumbled In Gravy\u00bb, \u00abI Moaned and I Moaned\u00bb) que profundizan en el blues pero que tambi\u00e9n miran hacia Nueva Orleans, al <em>bluegrass<\/em> o al <em>country<\/em>; junto a ellos aparecen algunas agradables sorpresas: \u00abHonky Tonkin'\u00bb del gran Hank Williams, y la preciosa \u00abHickory Wind\u00bb, una de las mejores composiciones de Gram Parsons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los m\u00fasicos y los arreglistas pr\u00e1cticamente var\u00edan (aunque sea levemente) de tema en tema. De ese modo el trabajo como productora de Regina Carter proporciona a cada tema un tratamiento distinto con aproximaciones al <em>funk<\/em>, al rock, al blues, incluso en alg\u00fan momento al jazz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El acordeonista Will Holshouser aparece a lo largo de todo el CD, al igual que el baterista Alvester Garnett. Los contrabajistas Chris Lightcap y Jesse Murphy se van alternando, tal y como hacen los guitarristas Martin Sewell y Adam Rogers. Esto hace que si bien el CD no aguanta como concepto unitario, en contraposici\u00f3n se muestra como una lograda colecci\u00f3n de buenos momentos individuales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Southern Comfort<\/em> sin duda no es el mejor trabajo de Regina Carter, pero posiblemente sea el que logre est\u00e9 enfocado a una mayor audiencia dado que encaja dentro de un entendimento de una manera amplia y laxa del concepto de <em>americana<\/em> en cuanto a m\u00fasica de los EE.UU. con ra\u00edz tradicional de los <em>EE.
