Hamid Drake, en la tercera entrega a nombre del colectivo Bindu, ha publicado un disco de <em>reggae<\/em>, que a su vez es un disco de jazz, y que posiblemente para algunos puristas no se quede ni en un terreno ni en otro. Lo cual, visto de otra manera, podr\u00eda no ser otra cosa que transitar por el camino de la <em>Great Black Music<\/em>. En definitiva, no hay ning\u00fan problema con esta propuesta. En absoluto. Si de algo puede presumir Hamid Drake es de su tremenda versatilidad polirr\u00edtmica, gracias a la cual es un bater\u00eda requerido para multitud de proyectos: no hay m\u00e1s que echar un vistazo tanto a su discograf\u00eda, como a los grupos en los que ha participado como <em>sideman<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">En esta ocasi\u00f3n Bindu se reencarna con una formaci\u00f3n en la que participan primeros pesos de la escena de Chicago: Jeff Parker, Jeb Bishop y Josh Abrams son tres de ellos. Y aunque lo suyo es caminar con ritmos <em>reggae<\/em>, no hay m\u00e1s que observar las duraciones de los temas para caer en la cuenta que all\u00ed hay mucho espacio para unas improvisaciones en las que prima el car\u00e1cter mel\u00f3dico: \u00abKali&#8217;s Children No Cry\u00bb, la joya del disco con una sucesi\u00f3n de solos soberbios, dura casi veinte minutos. En manos de unos m\u00fasicos de primera y con suficiente tiempo para realizar la grabaci\u00f3n (tres d\u00edas en el estudio), el resultado es una peque\u00f1a fiesta y una magn\u00edfica constataci\u00f3n, una m\u00e1s, de que en esto del jazz m\u00e1s importante que la materia prima de la que se parte, lo son el papel de los m\u00fasicos y las ideas con que pueden enriquecer ese material b\u00e1sico. Y ya comenzamos con uno de esos CD candidato a disco del a\u00f1o.
