Su cuarteto naci\u00f3 en 2010 y es una de las propuestas m\u00e1s destacadas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The Wisdom of Rocks<\/em> es el \u00faltimo trabajo de The Rich Halley 4, que contin\u00faa mostrando su gran fortaleza tras <em>Crossing The Passes<\/em> (Pine Eagle, 2013), en el que este veterano saxofonista sigue acometiendo desde las fronteras del <em>free jazz<\/em> su gran capacidad como improvisador. Su reciente \u00e1lbum, con las monta\u00f1as de Oregon como <em>leitmotiv<\/em>, supone un paso m\u00e1s y demuestra que el grupo ha ganado en consistencia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desde su personal estilo, Halley apela a la gran tradici\u00f3n de saxos tenores, que va desde Ben Webster, Sonny Rollins y Dexter Gordon, pasando por David S. Ware. Junto a Halley, el trombonista Michael Vlatkovich y el contrabajista Clyde Reed, son los veteranos de grupo. Carson Halley hijo del l\u00edder, con gran poder\u00edo y energ\u00eda juvenil, se muestra como el bater\u00eda perfecto para este tremendo grupo, que desarrolla en sus doce temas todo un cat\u00e1logo de jazz contempor\u00e1neo de primera l\u00ednea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La t\u00f3nica la marca el tema que abre el disco, \u00abThe Atoll\u00bb, con los dos vientos en armon\u00eda y el ritmo que marca Reed, hasta que el tema finaliza con un largo solo de Halley. En \u201cThe Get-Go\u201d, los vientos se mueven entre los r\u00edtmos <em>grooves<\/em> que dirigen el bater\u00eda y el contrabajista. En \u201cHeat in May\u201d hay una balada de saxo tenor antol\u00f3gica y en \u201cTale by Two\u201d, padre e hijo se retan mano a mano en una improvisaci\u00f3n de saxo y bater\u00eda impresionante.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Haciendo honor al nombre del disco, la m\u00fasica se muestra s\u00f3lida como las rocas. De forma natural y con un sonido libre, se van esculpiendo los colores, sombras y emociones.
