Cuando no parece que quede mucho por escribir sobre la carrera de Miles Davis, a\u00fan siguen apareciendo textos de calidad que arrojan luz sobre facetas concretas del trompetista de San Luis. En este caso el turno le toca al guitarrista Paul Tingen, que satisface su propia necesidad de admirar la etapa el\u00e9ctrica de Miles desde el punto de vista del <em>rock<\/em>, alej\u00e1ndose de la aversi\u00f3n a esa \u00e9poca tan generalizada en \u00e1mbitos jazz\u00edsticos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Si bien la introducci\u00f3n de la obra puede resultar algo pretenciosa (con referencias a teor\u00edas basadas en religiones y filosof\u00edas orientales), sucesivos cap\u00edtulos desgranan con rigor y buen estilo las grabaciones y directos del Miles Davis el\u00e9ctrico, combinando admiraci\u00f3n con sentido cr\u00edtico y arrop\u00e1ndose de referencias a otras obras previamente publicadas. La mayor parte del texto se centra en la m\u00fasica y los m\u00fasicos, apoy\u00e1ndose en el anecdotario sobre la vida privada del trompetista s\u00f3lo cuando la informaci\u00f3n es relevante para el desarrollo de la m\u00fasica. Serio y abierto de mente, Tingen aborda brillantemente la descripci\u00f3n de la banda comandada por Davis en el per\u00edodo 1973-1975, invitando a escuchar de nuevo el material de ese grupo.
