Su dur\u00edsima infancia vino complementada por un \u00e9xito salpicado de c\u00e1rcel y drogas, convirti\u00e9ndose en una de las leyendas negras del jazz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Como es habitual tan peculiar bagaje ha devenido en no pocos t\u00f3picos. A\u00fan sigue habiendo firmes convencidos de que la marginalidad que sufrieron no pocos m\u00fasicos negros durante el pasado siglo fue una inagotable fuente de creatividad. Es en esos momentos donde merece la pena hacer referencia a las autobiograf\u00edas, libros donde los propios m\u00fasicos expresan la realidad que vivieron desde su propio punto de vista, desmontando preconcepciones y leyendas urbanas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En este <em>Lady Sings the Blues<\/em> la <strong>Holiday<\/strong> retrata con crudeza los episodios m\u00e1s lamentables de su vida de forma paralela a su desarrollo como cantante. Consigue, de este modo, cumplir un doble objetivo: relata la cronolog\u00eda de su vida y plasma la Am\u00e9rica de la primera mitad del siglo XX. En cuanto al contenido hay que destacar el candor e inocencia de una <strong>Billie Holiday<\/strong> (originalmente <strong>Eleonora<\/strong>) que intenta durante todo el libro dar una imagen de mujer de fuerte personalidad, due\u00f1a de su destino y coherente en todas sus decisiones. Cuanto m\u00e1s trata de forjar ese icono m\u00e1s descubiertas quedan sus debilidades, y eso hace de \u00e9sta una obra, adem\u00e1s de interesante, entra\u00f1able.
