En el programa se escuchan algunas de las m\u00fasicas que influyeron a los esclavos norteamericanos: la m\u00fasica tradicional europea, las m\u00fasicas militares, o la m\u00fasica tradicional norteamericana \u2013fuertemente influenciada a su vez por la m\u00fasica europea. Tambi\u00e9n se escuchan algunos ejemplos de esas melod\u00edas trasladadas a los terrenos del jazz. Luis Escalante tambi\u00e9n realiza una introducci\u00f3n en los primeros instrumentos que sirvieron para realizar esa odisea musical.
