Sus m\u00e9ritos superan lo meramente musical, aunque\u00a0no era un fiel reflejo del blues rural sino una versi\u00f3n bastante m\u00e1s refinada. Este fue el punto de partida para que\u00a0las discogr\u00e1ficas intentaran explotar este\u00a0fil\u00f3n incorporando en sus cat\u00e1logos a cantantes, habitualmente femeninas.
