Johnson acompa\u00f1\u00f3 a Bessie Smith, si hacemos caso a la discograf\u00eda de James P. Johnson recopilada por Robert Hilber (puesto que Brian Rust pone en duda la participaci\u00f3n de James P. Johnson en tres de ellas).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De la docena de pianistas que acompa\u00f1aron a Bessie Smith a lo largo de\u00a0sus diez a\u00f1os de carrera discogr\u00e1fica, James P. Johnson es, sin lugar a dudas, el\u00a0m\u00e1s dotado t\u00e9cnicamente. En los dos compases iniciales de cada l\u00ednea, Johnson\u00a0aporta un poderoso y vibrante acompa\u00f1amiento r\u00edtmico con la mano izquierda (con matices distintos en cada una de las <em>stanzas<\/em>), a la poderosa y expresiva voz de Bessie, adem\u00e1s de breves comentarios y <em>obbligati<\/em> con la mano derecha.
