En cualquier caso, la caterva de aficionados al jazz le debemos unos cu\u00e1ntos momentos, discogr\u00e1ficos para todos, en vivo para los m\u00e1s veteranos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En su \u00faltima etapa como productor se encarg\u00f3 de rescatar a viejas glorias. Con Count Basie, por ejemplo, produjo unos cuantos discos con su <em>big band<\/em>, pero son especialmente recordados los grabados con peque\u00f1as formaciones, como sus d\u00faos con el antit\u00e9tico Oscar Peterson, o las <em>jam sessions<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De los tres elep\u00e9s de <em>jams <\/em>publicados originalmente (el segundo y tercero con la formaci\u00f3n que detallaremos a continuaci\u00f3n), es quiz\u00e1s el tercero el m\u00e1s atractivo, aunque sea s\u00f3lo porque todos los temas de los dos primeros son blues, y el esquema I-IV-V-I cansa al m\u00e1s pintado. En <em>Jam #3<\/em> el repertorio lo componen cuatro viejos standards, en los que los solistas tienen amplio espacio para explayarse, como corresponde a una buena jam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abBye, Bye Blues\u00bb es el tema que abre el disco y el recomendado en esta ocasi\u00f3n. Con solos, en orden de aparici\u00f3n, de Basie (piano), Eddie \u00abLockjaw\u00bb Davis (exuberante al tenor), Al Grey (tromb\u00f3n, con cita de \u00abMoose the Mooch\u00bb incluida), Benny Carter (templando con elegancia al alto), Clark Terry (acariciando con su caracter\u00edstico a la trompeta), Joe Pass (inmenso a la guitarra), Louie Bellson (bater\u00eda) y John Heard (contrabajo).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El porqu\u00e9 de la recomendaci\u00f3n es simple: el tema les sali\u00f3 redondo, de una esfericidad perfecta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">\u00a9 Adolphus van Tenzing, 2010<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abBye, Bye Blues\u00bb est\u00e1 disponible en <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jazzdisco.org\/fantasy-records\/catalog-ojc-600-series\/#ojccd-687-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Count Basie: <em>Jam #3<\/em> (Pablo\/Fantasy OJCCD-687-2)<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Norman Granz.
