Esta es una obra que muestra a una artista muy valiente, puesto que a priori no parece que sea una labor sencilla trabajar al frente de un octeto integrado por cuatro clarinetistas (Ben Goldberg, Oscar Noriega, Joachim Badenhorst y Andrew Bishop), dos instrumentos de teclas como son el piano y el \u00f3rgano (la propia Davis y Gary Versace), guitarra (Nate Radley) y bater\u00eda (Jim Black).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esta formaci\u00f3n inusual, probablemente in\u00e9dita, consigue llevar a buen puerto la dif\u00edcil tarea de conseguir que las composiciones de la canadiense suenen con una sorprendente coherencia. La mayor parte de sus creaciones est\u00e1n compuestas a su por una gran cantidad de motivos, que expuestos y desarrollados convenientemente, podr\u00edan multiplicarse en un buen n\u00famero de nuevas composiciones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desde el mismo inicio, con la magn\u00edfica \u201cUnion Forever\u201d, Kris Davis muestra que en su m\u00fasica hay miradas hacia el pasado del jazz sin ning\u00fan tipo de prejuicio (especialmente en \u201cWhirly Swirly\u201d que repleta de <em>groove<\/em> en sus inicios es un tema que parece extra\u00eddo por momentos de la \u00e9poca m\u00e1s gloriosa del Miles Davis de finales de los a\u00f1os 60), pero tambi\u00e9n hacia el presente con ciertos pasajes que parecen composiciones de m\u00fasica cl\u00e1sica. Haciendo de la dificultad virtud, abunda en la grabaci\u00f3n una multiplicidad de timbres y contrastes sonoros aportados por el \u00f3rgano de Versace y el piano de Davis, o la amplia paleta sonora de los hasta cuatro tipos de clarinetes (que incluye el contrabajo, bajo, y contralto).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los arreglos que buscan transitar por m\u00faltiples ambientes y recorren distintas intensidades, consiguen convertir esta arriesgada propuesta en una obra caleidosc\u00f3pica, que gana con los nuevos matices que van surgiendo en cada nueva escucha.
