Pat Metheny - Bright Size Life<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Unquity Road era la carretera, situada al sur de Boston, que llevaba a Pat Metheny al Pooh’s Pub de dicha ciudad para dar sus primeros conciertos con Jaco Pastorius al bajo y Bob Moses \u2013compa\u00f1ero, entonces, de Metheny en el grupo de Gary Burton\u2013\u00a0a la bater\u00eda. Tras dos a\u00f1os juntos, el tr\u00edo grab\u00f3 el inolvidable LP de debut Bright Size Life<\/em>.<\/p>\n

T\u00e9cnicamente \u00abUnquity Road\u00bb es un tema complejo tanto desde el punto de vista r\u00edtmico (amalgama ternaria-binaria en los seis primeros compases) como arm\u00f3nico. En este aspecto cabe destacar que en esa \u00e9poca Metheny compon\u00eda en la guitarra, favoreciendo acordes mayores con sexta y tr\u00edadas con posibilidad de usar cuerdas al aire (Mi y La, mayormente). La obsesiva figura mel\u00f3dica, doblada r\u00edtmicamente en el bajo, da una falsa sensaci\u00f3n de ostinato, y el solo de guitarra asombra por su destreza y por su capacidad mel\u00f3dica en un contexto cordal no funcional, tan alejado de la armon\u00eda jazz\u00edstica tradicional.<\/p>\n
