Estamos acostumbrados a todo tipo de experimentos r\u00edtmicos y m\u00e9tricos, acentos desplazados, amalgamas imposibles; pero en los a\u00f1os cincuenta el jazz se hablaba, mayoritariamente, en tiempo binario, en cuatro por cuatro, con el contrabajo tocando cuatro notas por comp\u00e1s y el <em>hi-hat<\/em> de la bater\u00eda marcando el segundo y el cuarto tiempo. De ah\u00ed la importancia de este <em>Jazz In 3\/4 Time<\/em>: una colecci\u00f3n de seis composiciones en m\u00e9trica de tres por cuatro, es decir, tres notas por comp\u00e1s, siendo el vals la forma musical m\u00e1s conocida en este formato ternario.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kenny Dorham y Sonny Rollins daban brillo a un quinteto que abord\u00f3 el contenido del disco con soltura y naturalidad. \u00abBlues Waltz\u00bb sorprend\u00eda al presentar, como su propio nombre indica, un blues como vals (Miles Davis ir\u00eda m\u00e1s lejos meses despu\u00e9s con su \u00abAll Blues\u00bb) y \u00abLover\u00bb impregn\u00f3 para siempre el imaginario jazz\u00edstico popular.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">M\u00e1s adelante llegar\u00eda Don Ellis rizando el rizo con su <em>Live In 3 2\/3\/4 Time<\/em>, pero esa es otra historia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">\u00a9 Adolphus van Tenzing<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Max Roach:\u00a0<em>Jazz In 3\/4 Time<\/em>, Emarcy 9566<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Si no fuera por su t\u00edtulo, hoy en d\u00eda este disco pasar\u00eda desapercibido para la mayor\u00eda de los aficionados.
