A Tribute To Monk And Bird (Tomato, 1978)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 1978 el alem\u00e1n <strong>Heiner Stadler<\/strong> reuni\u00f3 al contrabajista <strong>Reggie<\/strong> <strong>Workman<\/strong>, al trombonista y miembro de la AACM de Chicago <strong>George<\/strong> <strong>Lewis<\/strong>, al corneta <strong>Thad<\/strong> <strong>Jones<\/strong>, al saxofonista <strong>George<\/strong> <strong>Adams<\/strong>, al pianista <strong>Stanley<\/strong> <strong>Cowell<\/strong> y al baterista <strong>Lenny<\/strong> <strong>White<\/strong>, contando asimismo con la colaboraci\u00f3n puntual de <strong>Warren<\/strong> <strong>Smith<\/strong> (a los timbales) y <strong>Cecil<\/strong> <strong>Bridgewater<\/strong> (a la trompeta) para grabar un homenaje a <strong>Charlie<\/strong> <strong>Parker<\/strong> y <strong>Thelonious<\/strong> <strong>Monk<\/strong>. Basado en los \u00a0arreglos de <strong>Stadler<\/strong> de \u00abAir Conditioning\u00bb, \u00abAu Privave\u00bb y \u00abPerhaps\u00bb de <strong>Bird<\/strong>, y \u00abBa-Lue Bolivar Ba-Lues-Are\u00bb, \u00abStraight No Chaser\u00bb y \u00abMisterioso\u00bb de <strong>Monk<\/strong>, el resultado final tiene el m\u00e9rito de no sonar tan evidentemente <em>monkiano<\/em> como otros homenajes al pianista, ni tan pegado al <em>be-bop<\/em> tal y como sucede con otras visitas al legado del saxofonista. Lo que no falta a lo largo de esas extensas versiones (los seis temas incluidos en el doble CD duran casi ochenta minutos) son unos magn\u00edficos solos por parte de todos y cada uno de los m\u00fasicos participantes, que no son sino una puesta al d\u00eda del legado de dos pilares atemporales del jazz, con el m\u00e9rito a\u00f1adido de que transcurridos casi treinta y cinco a\u00f1os esta revisi\u00f3n sigue sonando plenamente actual.<\/p>\n<p>Heiner Stadler: <em>A Tribute To Monk And Bird<\/em>.
