The Complete 1955-1958<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La cantante <strong>Ethel Ennis<\/strong> es una de esas figuras en la que no c0inciden la calidad art\u00edstica con el reconocimiento y proyecci\u00f3n de su carrera. Nacida en 1932, tras grabar algunos temas para Atlantic, en 1955 publicaba su primer disco (<em>Ethel Ennis Sings Lullaby For Losers<\/em>) acompa\u00f1ada por el pianista <strong>Hank Jones<\/strong>, el baterista <strong>Kenny<\/strong> <strong>Clarke<\/strong>, el guitarrista <strong>Eddie<\/strong> <strong>Biggs<\/strong> y el contrabajista <strong>Abie<\/strong> <strong>Baker<\/strong>. Escuchando su magn\u00edfica vocalizaci\u00f3n y la comodidad con que se mov\u00eda por los medios tiempos y las baladas, no resulta extra\u00f1o que pocos meses despu\u00e9s grabase para Capitol los discos <em>Change Of Scenary<\/em> (con una magistral versi\u00f3n de \u00abI Cried For You\u00bb en la que en diversas fases cantaba acompa\u00f1ada \u00fanicamente por el piano, para posteriormente cambiar de registro y mostrar su <em>swing<\/em> apoyada por una orquesta), y<em> Have You Forgotten?<\/em> En 1958, a\u00f1o de grabaci\u00f3n de este \u00faltimo disco, el mism\u00edsimo <strong>Benny Goodman <\/strong>la reclut\u00f3, llegando a actuar en la Exposici\u00f3n Universal de Bruselas de ese mismo a\u00f1o. Todo este material se encuentra recogido en <em>The Complete 1955-1958<\/em> de la colecci\u00f3n de CD dobles que <strong>Le Chant Du Monde<\/strong> est\u00e1 dedicando a distintas cantantes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tras este refulgente inicio queda la figura de una cantante que mereci\u00f3 los elogios de los mism\u00edsimos Frank Sinatra y Billie Holiday. Su carrera, si bien es cierto que se ha mantenido a lo largo del tiempo con conciertos, presenta una discograf\u00eda m\u00e1s bien escasa.
