Fallecido antes de tiempo, en 1979 con 32 a\u00f1os, fascin\u00f3 con su manera de tocar el viol\u00edn. En 1976 grab\u00f3 <em>Man Of The Light<\/em> en compa\u00f1\u00eda de <strong>Joachim K\u00fchn<\/strong>, <strong>Cecil McBee<\/strong>, <strong>Billy Hart<\/strong> y <strong>Jasper Van&#8217;t Hoff<\/strong>. Un m\u00fasico a reivindicar. <strong>St\u00e9phane Grappelli<\/strong> y <strong>George Shearing<\/strong> se reunieron en 1976, 36 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de que el violinista contratase al pianista para su grupo. Escuchamos dos temas, sendos cl\u00e1sicos, de la grabaci\u00f3n que surgi\u00f3 de esta uni\u00f3n titulada<em> The Reunion<\/em>. Finalizamos con dos grabaciones de <strong>Jean-Luc Ponty<\/strong>: <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tomajazz.com\/web\/?p=14235\" target=\"_blank\">Sunday Walk<\/a><\/em>, de 1967, en la que Ponty contaba con apenas 25 a\u00f1os, grabado en el inicio de su carrera antes de que pasase a ser una figura internacional de primer nivel despu\u00e9s de tocar y grabar junto a <strong>Frank Zappa<\/strong>, la <strong>Mahavishnu Orchestra<\/strong> y <strong>Return To Forever<\/strong> de <strong>Chick Corea<\/strong>; <em>Open Strings<\/em> es una grabaci\u00f3n de 1971 a nombre del <strong>Jean-Luc Ponty Experience<\/strong>, previo a su inmersi\u00f3n en el jazz fusion.
