En su orquesta se puede ver y escuchar a\u00a0algunos nombres cl\u00e1sicos como <strong>Freddie<\/strong> <strong>Green<\/strong>, <strong>Frank<\/strong> <strong>Wess<\/strong>, <strong>Sonny<\/strong> <strong>Payne<\/strong>, <strong>Marshall<\/strong> <strong>Royall<\/strong>\u00a0o\u00a0<strong>Thad<\/strong> <strong>Jones<\/strong>, que aparec\u00edan en el c\u00e9lebre <em>The Atomic Mr. Basie<\/em> (que en la primera edici\u00f3n de los Premios Grammy consigui\u00f3 tres galardones). El repertorio sirve para mostrar a la orquesta en pleno rendimiento -m\u00fasicos en pie y situados al frente del grupo- tanto en las baladas, como en los tiempos medios y r\u00e1pidos. El grupo era una m\u00e1quina perfectamente engrasada, en el que todos los m\u00fasicos rayaban a gran nivel. La cantante <strong>Irene<\/strong> <strong>Reid<\/strong> particip\u00f3 en la parte final del concierto, sobresaliente en el viejo \u00abBack Water Blues\u00bb. El baterista <strong>Sonny<\/strong> <strong>Payne<\/strong> es quien se encarg\u00f3 de cerrar el concierto con un solo\u00a0<em>stricto sensu<\/em> previo a que la orquesta al completo regresase para interpretar una breve versi\u00f3n de \u00abOne O&#8217;Clock Jump\u00bb.
