\"Tribute<\/a>El 21 de noviembre de 2008 Joe McPhee<\/b>, Roy Campbell<\/b>, William Parker <\/b>y Warren Smith <\/b>grababan en directo bajo el nombre Tribute<\/b> a Albert Ayler<\/b>. Influidos todos ellos por el saxofonista, en su concierto reviv\u00edan algunos de los himnos del saxofonista: \u201cTruth Is Marching In\u201d, \u201cUniversal Indians\u201d, \u201cMusic Is the Healing Force of the Universe\u201d, \u201cVibrations\u201d. Junto a ellos interpretaban temas de su hermano Donald Ayler <\/b>(\u201cProphet John\u201d), Don Cherry<\/b> (\u201cDC\u201d) y Miriam Makeba <\/b>(\u201cMuntu\u201d), as\u00ed como la improvisacci\u00f3n \u201cObama Victory Shoutout\u201d (\u00abYes We Did\u00bb cantaban los cuatro cual coro gospel <\/i>antes de comenzar con un emocionante \u00abTruth Is Marching In\u00bb) dedicada a la elecci\u00f3n unos d\u00edas antes de Barak Obama <\/b>como presidente de los Estados Unidos.<\/div>\n

Energ\u00e9ticos y directos, los cuatro m\u00fasicos se explayaban en unos largos temas (los tres primeros, m\u00e1s de media hora de m\u00fasica, suenan sin soluci\u00f3n de continuidad) en los que hab\u00eda espacio para unos solos magn\u00edficos y unas interacciones de primer nivel: al fin y al cabo estamos hablando de primeras figuras del jazz actual. Joe McPhee<\/b> y Roy Campbell<\/b>, que son quienes disfrutaron de mayor espacio para los solos, aparecen especialmente brillantes, mientras que William Parker <\/b>y Warren Smith <\/b>si bien tambi\u00e9n tuvieron lugar para su lucimiento individual, bordaron la nada f\u00e1cil tarea de lograr mantener el ritmo.<\/div>\n

Resulta un placer enorme escuchar la forma en la que recrean las melod\u00edas contagiosas de \u201cTruth Is Marching In\u201d, \u201cUniversal Indians\u201d, \u201cDC\u201d y \u201cMuntu\u201d (de -y en homenaje a-\u00a0Miriam Makeba<\/b>, una peque\u00f1a sorpresa en un repertorio claramente ayleriano<\/i>), as\u00ed como la manera m\u00e1s abierta en que abordan \u201cMusic Is the Healing Force of the Universe\u201d y \u201cVibrations\u201d, o las reminiscencias hacia la herencia de sus ancestros de \u201cObama Victory Shoutout\u201d<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
