Sin embargo, la Iglesia intent\u00f3 impedir el uso de los m\u00e9todos de c\u00e1lculo \u00e1rabes con el argumento de que si eran m\u00e1s sencillos y eficaces era debido a que ten\u00edan algo de m\u00e1gico o demon\u00edaco. En aquellos momentos, los calculistas profesionales empleaban estos algoritmos en secreto para no tener problemas con la Iglesia.
