Horna, 2004<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Comentario:<\/strong> M\u00fasica sin concesiones la del quinteto de Chicago, en su visita en 2004 a Espa\u00f1a. Sin la presencia de dos de sus componentes originales (el trompetista Lester Bowie y el contrabajista Malachi Favors Moghostut) y con el retorno de Joseph Jarman conformando el trio original (que completan el saxofonista-percusionista Roscoe Mitchell y el baterista-persucionista Famodou Don Moye), su m\u00fasica result\u00f3 un viaje fascinante, estructurado de una manera similar a la de sus dos \u00faltimas grabaciones (<em>Tribute To Lester<\/em> en ECM, <em>The Meeting<\/em> en Pi Recordings, ambas de 2003).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En el directo en un casi lleno Auditorio del Kursaal por una parte afrontaron sus caracter\u00edsticas composiciones abiertas, base perfecta para la improvisaci\u00f3n sin ataduras. Por otro lado atacaron composiciones basadas en melod\u00edas m\u00e1s concretas, peque\u00f1os oasis para una parte de los asistentes seg\u00fan lo escuchado en los comentarios a la salida del concierto.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A lo largo de este fueron sonando tanto temas tanto de sus grabaciones cl\u00e1sicas como pertenecientes a sus \u00faltimas entregas: \u00abOdwalla\/The Theme\u00bb, \u00abSangaredi\u00bb, \u00abZeko\u00bb, \u00abAlternate Take: Zero\u00bb, \u00abMagg Zelma\u00bb, \u00abTutankamon\u00bb, \u00abSidi Ifni\u00bb, \u00abHappiness Is\u00bb, \u00abBlues For Zen\u00bb, \u00abHail We Now Sing Joy\u00bb, \u00abTill Autumn\u00bb, \u00abDancer\u00bb, \u00abPromenade: Cote Bamako\u00bb, \u00abSing For Donald\u00bb, \u00abSing For Atalu\u00bb, \u00ab597-59\u00bb, \u00abBig Red Peaches\u00bb fueron sonando a lo largo del concierto.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tomajazz.com\/clubdejazz\/conciertos\/aeoc_ss_donosti_2004_1.jpg\" width=\"292\" height=\"200\" border=\"1\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><br \/>\n\u00a9 Jos\u00e9 M. Horna, 2004<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los componentes originales cumplieron perfectamente con su papel, para una m\u00fasica exigente tanto para los m\u00fasicos como para los espectadores, a pesar de que la edad no pasa en balde para unos m\u00fasicos que formaron este grupo hace casi 40 a\u00f1os, especialmente notable en la apariencia (que no en la capacidad instrumental) de Roscoe Mitchell. No tanto as\u00ed con Joseph Jarman, que adem\u00e1s de un variado multiinstrumentista, demostr\u00f3 ser un m\u00e1s que notable cantante. Famodou Don Moye marc\u00f3 perfectamente el ritmo, bien a la bater\u00eda, bien a las congas. En cuanto a los sustitutos de los m\u00fasicos del grupo ya fallecidos, cumplieron a la perfecci\u00f3n. Corey Wilkes es miembro habitual del grupo de Roscoe Mitchell y demostr\u00f3 ser un notable trompetista. Muy interesantes fueron sus demostraciones a la trompeta emboquillando un par de ellas a la manera de Rahsaan Roland Kirk con los saxos. Jaribu Shaid tambi\u00e9n cumpli\u00f3 a la perfecci\u00f3n, en un papel instrumental m\u00e1s discreto como es el de contrabajista para una formaci\u00f3n de quinteto, a pesar de que tuvo la oportunidad de obsequiarnos con un magn\u00edfico solo en la parte final del concierto.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Con casi ya cuarenta a\u00f1os a sus espaldas, el grupo de Chicago demostr\u00f3 que su propuesta musical sigue plenamente vigente, con un discurso exigente tanto para los m\u00fasicos como para los oyentes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Texto: \u00a9 Jos\u00e9 Francisco Tapiz, 2004<br \/>\nFotograf\u00edas:\u00a0\u00a9 Jos\u00e9 Horna, 2004<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Art Ensemble Of Chicago Heineken 39 Jazzaldia.
