La formaci\u00f3n liderada por el baterista y percusionista (y en esta formaci\u00f3n\u00a0tambi\u00e9n compositor)\u00a0<strong>Paal Nilssen-Love<\/strong>, ha recogido el testigo del\u00a0<strong>Peter Br\u00f6tzmann Octet \/ Tentet<\/strong>, como la mejor\u00a0<em>big-band\u00a0<\/em>de\u00a0<em>free-jazz\u00a0<\/em>de la actualidad. Puede, quiz\u00e1s, resultar parad\u00f3jico que si hablamos de\u00a0jazz libre\u00a0tambi\u00e9n hablemos de composiciones, pero no hay problema alguno puesto que la cuesti\u00f3n esencial es que el grupo sepa c\u00f3mo jugar con la forma y la libertad&#8230; cuesti\u00f3n aparte es que el gran Ornette Coleman, uno de los pilares de este estilo, fue autor de algunos temas intemporales&#8230; pero esa es una historia para otra ocasi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-26049\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_2960.JPG-Unit-LargeMWM-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2960.JPG- Unit LargeMWM\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_2960.JPG-Unit-LargeMWM.jpg 600w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_2960.JPG-Unit-LargeMWM-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_2960.JPG-Unit-LargeMWM-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_2960.JPG-Unit-LargeMWM-83x55.jpg 83w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_2960.JPG-Unit-LargeMWM-60x40.jpg 60w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_2960.JPG-Unit-LargeMWM-120x80.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Large Unit<\/strong> ya ha sabido demostrar que es una formaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s que recomendable en sus dos grabaciones de larga duraci\u00f3n:\u00a0<em>Erta Ale <\/em>(que cual lanzamiento de gran estrella del pop ha aparecido publicada en multitud de formatos:\u00a0triple CD, qu\u00edntuple LP, cu\u00e1druple cassette&#8230; a lo que se a\u00f1adi\u00f3 un libro m\u00e1s doble CD con m\u00fasica de su gira de presentaci\u00f3n); y el CD aparecido este a\u00f1o de t\u00edtulo\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tomajazz.com\/web\/?p=23554\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ana<\/a><\/em>. Si se revisa la alineaci\u00f3n del concierto, se podr\u00e1 observar la presencia de una doble r\u00edtmica -lo que no resulta especialmente llamativo-. Posiblemente llame la atenci\u00f3n la presencia de los percusionistas de ascendencia brasile\u00f1a\u00a0<strong>Paulinho Bicolor<\/strong> y <strong>C\u00e9lio<\/strong> <strong>De<\/strong> <strong>Carvalho<\/strong>. A ellos se unen guitarra el\u00e9ctrica, electr\u00f3nica, tuba, tromb\u00f3n y trompeta, as\u00ed como tres saxofonistas. Un material humano m\u00e1s que suficiente como para organizar el trabajo de la orquesta en dos agrupaciones de\u00a0menor\u00a0tama\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-26050\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_3135.JPG-Unit-Largewm-400x600.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3135.JPG- Unit Largewm\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_3135.JPG-Unit-Largewm.jpg 400w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_3135.JPG-Unit-Largewm-100x150.jpg 100w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_3135.JPG-Unit-Largewm-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/IMG_3135.JPG-Unit-Largewm-37x55.jpg 37w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Las referencias a lo brasile\u00f1o son, posiblemente,\u00a0los elementos que m\u00e1s diferencien a esta propuesta de la de otras grandes formaciones del <em>free<\/em>. El sabio papel otorgado a los\u00a0m\u00fasicos brasile\u00f1os mencionados consigue -tanto en grabaci\u00f3n como en directo-,\u00a0que sus intervenciones marcando\u00a0el ritmo en las partes iniciales de los temas, sirvan como una plataforma perfecta para lanzar -\u00abhasta el infinito y m\u00e1s all\u00e1\u00bb- las intervenciones de sus compa\u00f1eros. En este aspecto tambi\u00e9n hay que destacar un par de enfoques distintos, complementarios y sumamente satisfactorios en lo relativo al desarrollo de los temas. En una parte, estos se desarrollaron en torno a la habitual estructura de\u00a0<em>tuttis\u00a0<\/em>energ\u00e9ticos, solos potentes e interacciones que buscaron conseguir llegar al\u00a0excitante paroxismo que se consigue en el <em>free<\/em>. La otra forma de desarrollar la m\u00fasica tuvo que ver con la organizaci\u00f3n del grupo como uni\u00f3n de las dos formaciones ya comentadas. Estas estuvieron lideradas por <strong>Julie Kjaer<\/strong> y <strong>Thomas<\/strong> <strong>Johansson<\/strong>. Estos m\u00fasicos no s\u00f3lo dirigieron las entradas, salidas, e intervenciones de los m\u00fasicos a su cargo, sino que por gestos fueron indicando las melod\u00edas con que ten\u00edan que intervenir. De ese modo, y cual flota inglesa en la batalla de Trafalgar, los espectadores nos vimos abordados por dos columnas\u00a0sonoras -a veces en acometidas individuales, a veces conjuntamente-, cada una de las cuales fue\u00a0interpretando una melod\u00eda independiente, entrando y saliendo seg\u00fan las decisiones de sus respectivos l\u00edderes.
