De cl\u00e1sicos del jazz, compositores contempor\u00e1neos, grupos de pop o m\u00fasicos de vanguardia. Esos son algunos de los homenajeados por Jorrit Dijkstra con sus \u00abPillow Circle\u00bb. Compuestas por encargo del North Sea Jazz Festival y el Muziek Centrum Nederland, <i>Pillow Circles<\/i> se estren\u00f3 en la edici\u00f3n de 2009 del festival holand\u00e9s. Su m\u00fasica se mueve por los terrenos de ese jazz contempor\u00e1neo que no echa demasiado la vista atr\u00e1s, que se abre a inspiraciones ajenas al jazz, y en el que son tan importantes las composiciones (que se inspiran magn\u00edficamente en la obra de los homenajeados), como los solos. A lo largo del disco no sorprenden las participaciones de Tony Malaby o Jeb Bishop, que est\u00e1n en un momento magn\u00edfico. No se puede decir lo mismo (en cuanto a la falta de sorpresa, no de la calidad), de Oene van Geel con la viola. Un instrumento no demasiado habitual en el jazz, y que aporta una sonoridad magn\u00edfica.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>Escuchando obras como \u00e9sta surgen varias preguntas. La primera de todas es por qu\u00e9 las creaciones por encargo de los festivales no son algo m\u00e1s frecuente en nuestro pa\u00eds. La segunda, por qu\u00e9 es tan dif\u00edcil encontrar a m\u00fasicos nacionales que se atrevan a realizar su trabajo partiendo de tradiciones como las que utiliza Jorrit Dijkstra.
