Son tres sus protagonistas principales. El primero es el saxofonista Marty Ehrlich, titular de la formaci\u00f3n, magn\u00edfico instrumentista y autor de la mayor\u00eda de las composiciones. El segundo es el chelista Erik Friedlander que se encuentra en un momento especialmente brillante en los \u00faltimos tiempos, un hecho que corrobora con esta grabaci\u00f3n: su participaci\u00f3n en piezas como \u00abRites Rhythms\u00bb, tomando un papel preponderante como solista, avalan esta afirmaci\u00f3n. El tercer implicado es el saxofonista y compositor Julius Hemphill. Ehrlich recupera tres de sus composiciones.
