Parece, sin embargo, m\u00e1s complicado tener que sacrificar piezas supuestamente imprescindibles si el objetivo es llenar plazas y auditorios en plena fiebre festivalera. Cuando se elige, se descarta, se prescinde con supuestos argumentos objetivos, arbitrarios o con una combinaci\u00f3n de ambos factores. La banda sin nombre que estrenaba en Europa \u201cJazz &#8211; The Story. Herring, Faddis, Carter, Alexander, Pelt y Turre son m\u00fasicos dotados tanto para la recreaci\u00f3n como para el lucimiento. Los hubo que imitaron al dedillo el estilo de t\u00f3tems del jazz, como por ejemplo John Faddis, tocando <em>\u00e0 la mani\u00e8re<\/em> <em>de<\/em> Arsmtrong, o Jeremy Pelt, haciendo lo propio con el particular sonido de Gillespie. Otros, aderezaron la sesi\u00f3n con improvisaciones de <em>tron\u00edo<\/em>: James Carter, el m\u00e1s guas\u00f3n de todos, Eric Alexander y Steve Turre a las caracolas de mar. Hubo cambios clim\u00e1ticos, <em>medley<\/em>, arreglos originales \u2014de la pieza\u2014 y singulares \u2014de la banda\u2014, ritmo, alegr\u00eda y hasta jarana. La \u00faltima media hora del concierto fue una suerte de fiesta mayor de lujo coronada con uno de los grandes \u00e9xitos de la m\u00fasica negra del \u00faltimo tercio del siglo XX, \u201cDon&#8217;t Worry, Be Happy\u201d, un cl\u00e1sico coreado al un\u00edsono por las 4.000 personas que llenaban hasta la bandera la medieval plaza de Jaume I. El plumilla se jug\u00f3 entonces unos vinos a que en los bises tocar\u00edan \u201cWhen The Saints Go Marchin In\u201d.
