En su curr\u00edculum cuenta con haber sido uno de los participantes en la grabaci\u00f3n del m\u00edtico Machine Gun (FMP; reeditado en las Unheard Music Series &#8211; Atavistic) del Peter Br\u00f6tzmann Octet a finales de los a\u00f1os 60.<\/p>\n<p>En la actualidad este pianista sigue en activo. Una de las \u00faltimas muestras de su trabajo ha sido editada por Psi Recordings, el sello de Evan Parker. <em>Journey<\/em> (psi 08.03) contiene la grabaci\u00f3n del concierto a piano solo que Van Hove dio en agosto de 2007 en el festival de jazz de Mulhouse (Francia). A lo largo de los 52 minutos que aparecen repartidos en dos partes, el pianista realiza un viaje sonoro improvisando libremente. Su discurso aparece repleto de peque\u00f1as melod\u00edas que van apareciendo y desapareciendo, y que expuestas con diferente intensidad (no hay m\u00e1s que comparar el intenso final de la segunda parte con la suavidad que aparece poco antes de finalizar la primera), sirven para que el pianista cree diferentes ambientes. Entre sus herramientas aparecen adem\u00e1s de las formas propias del g\u00e9nero, otras influencias que provienen de la m\u00fasica cl\u00e1sica contempor\u00e1nea.
