de los m\u00fasicos <strong>Jack Walrath<\/strong> (trompeta), <strong>Ricky Ford<\/strong> (saxo tenor), <strong>George Coleman<\/strong> (saxos alto y tenor), <strong>Bob Neloms<\/strong> (piano), <strong>Philip Catherine<\/strong> y <strong>Larry Coryell<\/strong> (guitarra), <strong>George Mraz<\/strong> (contrabajo), <strong>Dannie Richmond<\/strong> (bater\u00eda) y <strong>Paul Jeffrey <\/strong>(arreglos) entraban en los estudios de la compa\u00f1\u00eda Atlantic Records de Nueva York para grabar los tres primeros temas \u2013de un total de cinco\u2013, que iban a formar el \u00ab<strong>Goodbye Pork Pie Hat\u00bb (Adi\u00f3s Sombrero Pork Pie) <\/strong>que Mingus compuso y grab\u00f3 en el a\u00f1o 1959 siendo uno de los cortes de su trabajo titulado <em>Mingus Ah Um<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Esta preciosa melod\u00eda fue escrita en homenaje al saxofonista <strong>Lester Young<\/strong> que hab\u00eda fallecido dos meses antes de la citada grabaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lester Young<\/strong> gustaba de ataviarse con un sombrero que los norteamericanos llaman <strong>\u201cPork Pie\u201d <\/strong>debido a la anchura de su ala (y su parecido con el pastel de cerdo), de ah\u00ed que <strong>Mingus<\/strong> titulara la canci\u00f3n dedicada a su amigo de la forma en que lo hizo.<\/p>\n<p>Seleccionado y comentado por \u00a9 Luis
