Entre abril y noviembre de 1963, McLean y Moncur III formaron una peque\u00f1a sociedad que dio como frutos tres discos clave para el tr\u00e1nsito entre el <em>hard bop<\/em> y la <em>new thing<\/em> que se estaba produciendo en el jazz. Fueron <em>One Step Beyond<\/em>\u00a0y <em>Destination Out!<\/em>, ambos a nombre de <strong>McLean<\/strong>, y <em>Evolution<\/em>\u00a0de <strong>Moncur<\/strong>.
