Al igual que su admirado John Coltrane, estas influencias se traslucen en su manera de entender el jazz y as\u00ed lo lleva haciendo en sus m\u00e1s de 60 a\u00f1os de trayectoria. Despu\u00e9s de su larga carrera como maestro indiscutible y explorador de nuevos sonidos, Charles Lloyd ha formado, al margen de su cuarteto del que forma parte el pianista Jason Moran, una singular banda en la que se integra una garant\u00eda indiscutible como el guitarrista <strong>Bill Frisell<\/strong>.<br \/>\nBajo el curioso t\u00edtulo de <strong>The Marvels<\/strong>, tambi\u00e9n lo forman <strong>Greg<\/strong> <strong>Leisz<\/strong>, colaborador de Frisell, junto a <strong>Reuben<\/strong> <strong>Rogers<\/strong> y <strong>Eric<\/strong> <strong>Harland<\/strong>, inseparables de Lloyd en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os. Empez\u00f3 con un temas con referencias <em>boppers<\/em>, pero en seguida sigui\u00f3 una pieza en\u00e9rgica que respiraba blues por los cuatro costados con Eric Harland y Reuben Rogers marcando ritmos <em>grooves<\/em> reforzados por los fraseos caracter\u00edsticos de Lloyd y las incorporaciones de la guitarra y del <em>pedal steel guitar<\/em> de Greg Leisz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-37797\" src=\"https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_1371-V_filtered-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_1371-V_filtered-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_1371-V_filtered-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_1371-V_filtered-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_1371-V_filtered-83x55.jpg 83w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_1371-V_filtered-60x40.jpg 60w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_1371-V_filtered-120x80.jpg 120w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/IMG_1371-V_filtered.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tanto Lloyd como Frisell se reparten el protagonismo del concierto, ya sea en momentos m\u00e1s mel\u00f3dicos y pausados, como en otros de marcada intensidad. Las baladas de Lloyd siguen teniendo el acento <em>coltraneano<\/em> de siempre. Sus particulares fraseos al tenor surgen como son cascadas de lamentos respirando la historia viva de la m\u00fasica norteamericana. Bill Frisell dirige los temas hacia los cauces que m\u00e1s le gustan. Notas que parece que vuelan con sus punteos emocionantes. Junto a \u00e9l, Greg Leisz acent\u00faa las aportaciones de Frisell y se erige en protagonista con una interpretaci\u00f3n de una pieza de corte oriental con sonido a <em>sitar<\/em> con guitarra y bater\u00eda, creando un ambiente casi propicio para una meditaci\u00f3n, que se enriquece a\u00fan m\u00e1s con la flauta travesera de Lloyd.
