Muchos llev\u00e1bamos tiempo con ganas de poder <em>contemplar<\/em> la introspectiva y personal\u00edsima forma que el pianista de Cincinnati tiene al interpretar la m\u00fasica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-38147\" src=\"https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press2-600x424.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"424\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press2-600x424.jpg 600w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press2-200x141.jpg 200w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press2-768x543.jpg 768w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press2-78x55.jpg 78w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Abordando la pr\u00e1ctica totalidad del repertorio de su \u00faltimo trabajo, <em>Live in Europe<\/em> (Palmetto Records, 2018), el tr\u00edo completaba el \u00faltimo concierto de su gira europea, antes de embarcar al d\u00eda siguiente rumbo a Nueva York. Ofrecieron un concierto lleno de momentos para enmarcar, compuesto por constantes y ecl\u00e9cticas pinceladas de sutileza, en las que la complicidad de los miembros del tr\u00edo, macerada durante los \u00faltimos diez a\u00f1os, se pod\u00eda saborear pr\u00e1cticamente en cada pasaje del concierto, incluyendo por supuesto los silencios. Porque Hersch es de esas bestias capaces de hacer que los mism\u00edsimos Monk, Ellington, Shorter, Coleman o Rollins, suenen a Hersch. Y esa forma tan particular y pr\u00edstina de abordar el sonido, es la que ha conseguido que trascienda a sus compa\u00f1eros de tr\u00edo, que le vienen acompa\u00f1ando durante la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada, y que son una delicia para el espectador, pues consiguen transmitir todo un abanico de recursos, impregnando de matices los silencios que Hersch pareciera ir buscando adrede, o forzando el error como estrategia para abrir nuevos caminos a la creatividad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-38148\" src=\"https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press3-600x399.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press3-600x399.jpg 600w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press3-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press3-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press3-83x55.jpg 83w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press3-60x40.jpg 60w, https:\/\/tomajazz.com\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/press3-120x80.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Las disonancias entre las dos manos de Hersch encontraban su acicate en la polirritmia comedida de McPherson, capaz de controlar la potencial explosividad de sus solos de bater\u00eda. John H\u00e9bert estuvo fabuloso durante toda la noche, con momentos incluso estelares, utilizando recursos variopintos entre los que se inclu\u00eda, por ejemplo, baquetas para tocar las cuerdas de su contrabajo. Y Hersch tambi\u00e9n busc\u00f3 momentos introspectivos, como cuando interpret\u00f3 el tema de Russ Freeman \u00abThe Wind\u00bb.
