Este saxofonista, que vive a caballo entre New York, Barcelona y Maine, cuenta con una amplia trayectoria en la que ha trabajado con m\u00fasicos de la talla de Reid Anderson, Ben Monder, Paul Motian. Orrin Evans, Eric Revis, Andrew Cyrille y Ethan Iverson.<\/p>\n<p>Registar un disco de improvisaciones y a solo, es un reto para cualquier m\u00fasico de jazz. McHenry se decidi\u00f3 a grabar este trabajo despu\u00e9s de su larga experiencia como solista en el club de jazz Robadors 23 de Barcelona. Dichos conciertos fueron una buena experiencia sonora, en la que el m\u00fasico se expuso sin red, nada m\u00e1s que dej\u00e1ndose llevar por su imaginaci\u00f3n y sus sentimientos.<\/p>\n<p><em>Solo<\/em> captura la m\u00fasica de McHenry interpretada de una forma sincera, a cuerpo descubierto. Son un conjunto de 26 improvisaciones, ideadas como postales sonoras que se van sucediendo sin soluci\u00f3n de continuidad.<\/p>\n<p>Est\u00e1 concebido a la manera de bocetos, en los que el m\u00fasico expresa en cada momento aquello que quiere dar a conocer. Secuencias en las que el saxofonista ofrece una clase magistral dividida en varios escalones. En unos alcanza la m\u00e1xima intensidad, y en otros predomina la introversi\u00f3n m\u00e1s descarnada. El disco est\u00e1 estructurado con dos intervalos de cinco canciones, dos intervalos de cuatro y uno de tres canciones. Adem\u00e1s, incluye cinco denominados \u201cRing Tone\u201d, colocados estrat\u00e9gicamente.
