Nacido en Pocahontas, Virginia, de 1915 a 1920 vivi\u00f3 en Nueva Orleans, Louisiana, donde aprendi\u00f3 a tocar el piano de jazz. Pas\u00f3 a vivir en Chicago, donde trabaj\u00f3 con varias importantes orquestas de jazz incluyendo la del Teatro Vendome con la que realiz\u00f3 varias grabaciones, coincidiendo con Louis Armstrong en la orquesta.<\/p>\n<p>Despu\u00e9s, en agosto 1926, abandon\u00f3 EUA y viaj\u00f3 por Asia tocando profesionalmente con la Orquesta de Jack Carter. Weatherford pasar\u00eda el resto de su vida en Oriente, de ah\u00ed su casi anonimato. Lider\u00f3 varias bandas en Singapur, Manila, Shanghai y, finalmente, en la India. A principios de la d\u00e9cada de 1930 lider\u00f3 una banda en el Taj Mahal Hotel de Bombay, India. M\u00e1s tarde se uni\u00f3 a la banda de Cricket Smith en Yakarta, Indonesia, y en 1937 se hizo cargo de la direcci\u00f3n de la orquesta de Cricket Smith en Ceil\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p>Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, lider\u00f3 una banda en Calcuta, con la que hizo emisiones radiof\u00f3nicas para el Servicio de Radio de las Fuerzas Armadas de Estados Unidos. Muri\u00f3 de c\u00f3lera en esta ciudad, a la edad de 41 a\u00f1os en 1945.<\/p>\n<p>Durante una visita a Par\u00eds, con motivo de la Exposici\u00f3n Internacional de 1937, grab\u00f3 como solista siete pistas.
