Numerosos CD en variadas formaciones est\u00e1n documentando su trabajo con diligencia. En este caso contin\u00faa incrementando su\u00a0<i>output<\/i>\u00a0con un disco doble grabado en directo en el Blue Note de Nueva York donde juega a ser Bill Evans en un homenaje al m\u00edtico pianista. En la secci\u00f3n r\u00edtmica Corea cuenta con dos antiguos acompa\u00f1antes de Evans: Eddie Gomez y el recientemente fallecido Paul Motian.<\/p>\n<p>Por un lado da gusto escuchar a tres gigantes tanto individual como colectivamente. Todo lo que hacen es bueno, todo tiene sentido. Pero la entrega al esp\u00edritu de Bill Evans les limita en exceso en muchas ocasiones. Corea evita muchas de esas frases que le han hecho inmediatamente reconocible, abordando desarrollos m\u00e1s arpegiados que le suenan ajenos en parte. En las versiones de Evans Motian viste un traje que a estas alturas ya le quedaba peque\u00f1o. Demasiado comedido, incluso predecible a veces. Gomez es el \u00fanico capaz de integrarse en el proyecto sin renunciar a su voz actual.<\/p>\n<p>Es, por tanto, en los temas originales donde los tres m\u00fasicos se expresan con m\u00e1s sinceridad, explorando fronteras y alcanzando alt\u00edsimos niveles de interacci\u00f3n (\u201cOff The Cuff\u201d). Motian vuelve a ser Motian en su \u201cMode VI\u201d, Chick vuelve a ser Chick en su \u201cAnother Tango\u201d. Curiosamente en el\u00a0<i>monkiano<\/i>\u00a0\u201cLittle Rootie Tootie\u201d Corea se convierte por momentos en Thelonious Monk, demostrando, eso s\u00ed, una gran capacidad camale\u00f3nica. Cierra el disco el \u201cPuccini\u2019s Walk\u201d de Eddie Gomez, dedicado no al gran compositor italiano, sino al perro del contrabajista, de nombre Puccini.<\/p>\n<p>La extensi\u00f3n del material (73 minutos en un CD y 63 en el otro) permite disfrutar de much\u00edsimos detalles. La grabaci\u00f3n puede ser iluminadora o decepcionante, seg\u00fan se mire. En todo caso el esfuerzo est\u00e1 hecho, y cualquier documento del \u00faltimo Paul Motian es m\u00e1s que bienvenido.
