Marcus Miller repasa sus f\u00f3rmulas habituales en este\u00a0<i>Renaissance<\/i>\u00a0lleno de\u00a0<i>funk<\/i>\u00a0y melod\u00edas silbables. Lo hace en torno a un grupo estable con alguna colaboraci\u00f3n salteada, creando un producto que rebosa unidad y coherencia.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed, Miller se apoya con confianza en la que ha sido su banda en directo en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os (Sean Jones a la trompeta, Alex Han al saxo alto, Federico Gonz\u00e1lez Pe\u00f1a a los teclados y Louis Cato en los tambores). A partir de ah\u00ed otros m\u00fasicos van completando cada uno de los temas, con un Adam Rogers desaprovechad\u00edsimo y Rub\u00e9n Blades y Gretchen Parlato abordando una buena interpretaci\u00f3n de un arreglo discutible: el del \u201cSetembro\u201d de Ivan Lins (esc\u00fachese, para comparar, la versi\u00f3n original, o bien la de Quincy Jones en su\u00a0<i>Back On The Block<\/i>). Parece que en este nuevo CD el bajista ha conseguido que nadie brille por encima de \u00e9l, pero consigue no aburrir, y eso tiene su m\u00e9rito en un disco de m\u00e1s de 70 minutos.<\/p>\n<p>El sonido del\u00a0<i>Fender<\/i>\u00a0de Marcus Miller es excepcional; ya lo hemos comentado otras veces en estas p\u00e1ginas. En\u00a0<i>Renaissance<\/i>\u00a0no abusa del\u00a0<i>slap<\/i>\u00a0ni de los solos. Su punto fuerte son las composiciones. Lejos de la b\u00fasqueda de texturas complejas, formas intrincadas o armon\u00edas impredecibles, Miller se preocupa de la melod\u00eda por encima de todo. \u201cDetroit\u201d, \u201cFebruary\u201d y \u201cRevelation\u201d son buena muestra de ello. Tambi\u00e9n aprovecha para aportar su visi\u00f3n personal a temas de otros como el \u201cSlippin\u2019 Into Darkness\u201d de War o el \u201cMr. Clean\u201d de Weldon Irvine. Cierra el disco con una bell\u00edsima versi\u00f3n a bajo solo del \u201cI\u2019ll Be There\u201d que popularizaran los Jackson 5.<\/p>\n<p>Calidad, calidad y calidad. T\u00e9cnica y madurez al servicio de una producci\u00f3n excelente.
