Una formaci\u00f3n de tromb\u00f3n (<strong>Jeff<\/strong> <strong>Albert<\/strong>), saxo tenor (<strong>Kidd<\/strong> <strong>Jordan<\/strong>), contrabajo (<strong>Joshua<\/strong> <strong>Abrams<\/strong>) y bater\u00eda (<strong>Hamid<\/strong> <strong>Drake<\/strong>). A lo largo de <em>The Tree On The Mound<\/em>\u00a0van apareciendo distintas asociaciones, los nombres de distintos instigadores musicales. Entre ellos el de<strong> Hamid Drake<\/strong>, que invit\u00f3 a participar al trombonista de Nueva Orleans en <a title=\"Hamid Drake &amp; Bindu: Reggaeology\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tomajazz.com\/web\/?p=1130\"><em>Reggaeology<\/em> <\/a>de su formaci\u00f3n Bindu, tambi\u00e9n publicado en Rogue Art. Otro instigador musical: <strong>Fred Anderson<\/strong>, saxofonista fundamental durantes las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas en la escena de Chicago, propietario del Velvet Lounge, compa\u00f1ero del veterano <strong>Kidd Jordan<\/strong> (saxofonista oriundo de Louisiana, aunque residente Nueva Orleans), y autor de los temas \u00abThree On Two\u00bb y \u00abThe Strut\u00bb que abren y cierran el CD. En cuanto al resto, salvo la pieza colectiva \u00abInstigation Quartet #6\u00bb, las cuatro restantes (\u00abInstigation Quartet\u00bb n\u00fameros 1, 2 y 3, as\u00ed como la pieza que da t\u00edtulo al disco), son obra de<strong> Jeff Albert<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los dos temas de Anderson sirven para indicar los derroteros por los que se mueve el CD: <em>free bop<\/em> e\u00a0inspiraci\u00f3n en la espiritualidad <em>coltraneana<\/em>, improvisaciones, pero sin perder de vista ni la importancia de las melod\u00edas, ni los distintos ambientes, incluyendo cierto car\u00e1cter melanc\u00f3lico en algunos momentos. Los espacios disponibles instigan tambi\u00e9n a que los m\u00fasicos desarrollen la m\u00fasica en unos interesantes d\u00faos, adem\u00e1s de en la formaci\u00f3n de cuarteto.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En cuanto a la grabaci\u00f3n, sorprende escuchar a\u00a0<strong>Hamid Drake<\/strong> m\u00e1s contenido que de costumbre.
