Liderado por el baterista, percusionista y tambi\u00e9n int\u00e9rprete de otros instrumentos John Stevens, en los dos CD seleccionados aparecen m\u00fasicos como Evan Parker, Paul Rutherford, Kenny Wheeler, Roger Smith o Trevor Watts. Los dos CD permiten verificar la evoluci\u00f3n estil\u00edstica del grupo que va del free jazz del a\u00f1o 1966 (<em>Challenge<\/em>), a la libre improvisaci\u00f3n posterior de 1978 y 1992 (<em>New Surfacing<\/em>). Esta inquietud tambi\u00e9n se transmite en la geometr\u00eda del grupo. En estos dos CD la formaci\u00f3n que var\u00eda del quinteto inicial con la presencia de tres vientos (tromb\u00f3n, fiscorno y saxos -alto o soprano-), al tr\u00edo (percusi\u00f3n &#8211; minitrompeta &#8211; voz, viol\u00edn y guitarra), pasando por la un cuarteto de dos saxos, contrabajo y bater\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La recomendaci\u00f3n va tambi\u00e9n hacia el sello -Emanem- y con \u00e9l a la labor de Martin Davidson, empe\u00f1ado en documentar la escena de la libre improvisaci\u00f3n brit\u00e1nica con la edici\u00f3n, reedici\u00f3n (\u00a1cu\u00e1ntos sellos mantienen sus grabaciones fuera del alcance del p\u00fablico!) y puesta en circulaci\u00f3n de grabaciones que recupera de otras discogr\u00e1ficas (parte de <em>Challenge<\/em> fue publicado por el sello Eyemark, parte de <em>New Surfacing<\/em> fue publicado por Konnex).
