Con gran habilidad, enfoca de un modo diferente cada una de las joyas del enorme compositor y director de orquesta, sin dejar por ello de hacer que unas melod\u00edas eternas sigan estando presentes en todo momento.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los discos con cuerdas son unos cl\u00e1sicos en la discograf\u00eda de los saxofonistas. Joshua Redman afronta esta tarea en <i>Walking Shadows<\/i> (Nonesuch). Para ello recurre a un pu\u00f1ado de cl\u00e1sicos, especialmente baladas y tiempos medios, en los que su toque aterciopelado y tranquilo sobresale sobre el magn\u00edfico colch\u00f3n de la secci\u00f3n de cuerdas frotadas. El \u00fanico tema que chirr\u00eda entre el resto de la magn\u00edfica selecci\u00f3n es \u201cLet it Be\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Distinta es la aproximaci\u00f3n a los cl\u00e1sicos del Quercus Trio, formado por la cantante folk June\u00a0 Tabor, el pianista Huw Warren y el saxofonista Ian Ballamy. En <i>Quercus<\/i> (ECM) construyen un disco de jazz basado en temas tradicionales ingleses y composiciones propias de belleza intemporal. Una vez m\u00e1s se demuestra que en buenas manos la m\u00fasica tradicional es una inagotable fuente de inspiraci\u00f3n para el jazz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cyrus Chestnut es un pianista que en los a\u00f1os 80, con poco m\u00e1s de 20, se convirti\u00f3 en una figura emergente del jazz, con gran actividad discogr\u00e1fica hasta hace un tiempo. Tras un intermedio, vuelve a la carga con <i>The Cyrus Chestnut Quartet <\/i>(WJ3 Records). Un pu\u00f1ado de temas a la cl\u00e1sica, entre los que hay alg\u00fan blues, baladas, temas valseados, <i>hard bop<\/i> y temas de corte actual. Buenas composiciones interpretadas por un magn\u00edfico cuarteto.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El incansable bajista y contrabajista, y ganador de 3 premios Grammy Christian Mcbride, vuelve a la carga con la formaci\u00f3n ac\u00fastica Inside Straight con <i>People Music<\/i> (Mack Avenue).
