Una forma y un sonido diferentes nacieron a su abrigo y hoy d\u00eda guitarristas como Mark Wingfield son un referente basamentado en aquel sonido; un sonido que va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del rock<\/em> progresivo tal y como lo entendemos y que fusiona elementos tan dispares como el dark ambient<\/em>, el jazz-rock<\/em> o el rock<\/em> progresivo ecl\u00e9ctico.<\/p>\n

La manera de tocar de Mark Wingfield supone un avance creativo de dicho rock<\/em> progresivo que transforma el estilo en un nuevo amanecer est\u00e9tico que a\u00fana a guitarristas como el noruego Terje Rypdal, Allan Holdsworth o Pat Metheny en \u201cThe Listening Trees\u201d e incluso Robert Fripp.<\/p>\n

The Gathering <\/em>supone un ejercicio de volubilidad sonora, casi lagrimosa, donde Mark Wingfield reblandece su guitarreo atmosf\u00e9rico, a veces lejano y en otras cercano, pero siempre intenso, tensi\u00f3n que se masca y palpa en la bater\u00eda de Asaf Sirkis o en los bajos de Tony Levin o Percy Jones, seg\u00fan el caso, e incluso en las oscuras atm\u00f3sferas sintetizadas de Gary Husband.<\/p>\n

Un \u00e1lbum s\u00f3lido y sin picos de sierra que se mantiene a caballo entre lo est\u00e1tico y lo vertiginoso y cuya coherencia sonora y estructural funde la tranquilidad y el sosiego con pasajes de mayor energ\u00eda desde la partitura o la improvisaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
