Esta nueva versi\u00f3n de su Zooid se parece tanto o m\u00e1s a una mezcla de las dos que a su anterior versi\u00f3n en una de aquellas dos grabaciones. En teor\u00eda, su Make a Move, el otro grupo que utiliz\u00f3 entonces, era el veh\u00edculo para hacer su m\u00fasica m\u00e1s el\u00e9ctrica, o mejor dicho, basada en el sonido de la guitarra, en aquel caso de Brandon Ross. En este nuevo Zooid la guitarra de Ellman es tambi\u00e9n muy importante, y adem\u00e1s este m\u00fasico remata su excelente proyecci\u00f3n en los \u00faltimos tiempos con la producci\u00f3n del disco.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La sustituci\u00f3n de Ross por Ellman no es muy llamativa, pero en cambio la nueva secci\u00f3n de ritmo donde el bajo ac\u00fastico de Takeishi se acompa\u00f1a de Kavee, que sustituye a Dafnis Prieto, influye mucho en el sonido de la banda. S\u00edncopas <em>funk<\/em>, entrecortadas y en\u00e9rgicas, muy del estilo de las de la m\u00fasica de Steve Coleman, son la base r\u00edtmica de varios temas del disco. Es curioso que la influencia de Threadgill, evidente sobre Coleman, tenga aqu\u00ed su contrapartida. Y es admirable que un compositor como Threadgill admita las influencias tra\u00eddas por los miembros de sus bandas a su tan particular universo. Adem\u00e1s, el resultado es excelente, ya que esas composiciones llenas de aristas y recovecos del saxofonista cabalgan de manera fenomenal sobre esos ritmos tan \u00e1giles. Ni siquiera cuando Gene Lake alternaba su participaci\u00f3n entre las bandas de Threadgill y Coleman esta conexi\u00f3n era tan evidente como aqu\u00ed, y lo cierto es que este disco no puede defraudar a los aficionados a la m\u00fasica de cualquiera de los dos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esto no quiere decir que la m\u00fasica de este gran compositor haya perdido un \u00e1pice de su personalidad. Fallecido Julius Hemphill, Threadgill aparece como el gran representante entre los compositores de la generaci\u00f3n de los <em>lofts<\/em>. Su sonido sigue siendo, sobre todo al alto, inigualable, y sus bandas siguen reflejando como pocas una concepci\u00f3n muy particular de la m\u00fasica. Este Zooid es otra nueva muestra de la cohesi\u00f3n espectacular de los grupos que ha ido utilizando en los \u00faltimos treinta a\u00f1os, sin perder una onza de su enorme potencial.
