Esto fue lo que me atrajo. Pero a medida que empezaba a meterme en la historia de la m\u00fasica, me daba cuenta de que era imposible sin, al mismo tiempo, penetrar de forma m\u00e1s profunda en la historia de la gente. Se trataba de la historia del pueblo afroamericano como texto, como cuento, como historia, como exposici\u00f3n, como narraci\u00f3n, o como lo que sea, de que la m\u00fasica es la partitura, la orquestaci\u00f3n creativa realmente expresada, el reflejo de la vida afroamericana; nuestras palabras, el libreto para aquellas vidas reales, vividas. De que la m\u00fasica era la orquestada, vocalizada, tarareada, cantada, tocada, golpeada y dispersa confirmaci\u00f3n corolaria de la historia. Y de que uno podr\u00eda, en realidad, ir de una a otra, de lo interior a lo exterior, o al rev\u00e9s, y estar\u00eda hablando siempre de las mismas cosas. Que la m\u00fasica explica la historia as\u00ed como la historia explica la m\u00fasica.
