Otros grupos tan se\u00f1alados y excepcionales, que tambi\u00e9n graban en el sello lisboeta, como el Bigmouth de Chris Lightcap han pasado por all\u00ed. Por aqu\u00ed va a ser complicado construir un certamen semejante o traer a cualquiera de estos m\u00fasicos. En diciembre fue Kaja a Lisboa a presentar este disco. Y fue, como en la capital de su pa\u00eds, con su tesis doctoral sobre Cecil Taylor debajo del brazo, trabajo que cont\u00f3 con la supervisi\u00f3n de Vijay Iyer antes de ser presentada en el conservatorio de Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La n\u00f3nima de pianistas mujeres de Clean Feed es de lo mejor de la escena contempor\u00e1nea de generaciones posteriores a Geri Allen, Myra Melford y Marilyn Crispell. Angelica S\u00e1nchez, Kris Davis y ahora Kaja Draksler, en cierto modo, abarcan las l\u00edneas est\u00e9ticas de esos tres pilares que las anteceden y que ir\u00edan de un profundo sentido del <i>blues<\/i> a una construcci\u00f3n atonal consonante o m\u00e1s hacia lo abstracto. Kaja est\u00e1 m\u00e1s cerca de Kris Davis, aunque a\u00fan le queda mucho para llegar a la envergadura arquitect\u00f3nica y t\u00e9cnica de la canadiense. Las dos, y a diferencia de todas las citadas, trabajan sobre t\u00e9cnicas de piano extendido, sobre las cuerdas y con peque\u00f1os objetos de frotaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La conquista de nuevos timbres ha sido el gran desaf\u00edo -no s\u00f3lo- del piano contempor\u00e1neo del siglo XX, ya desde Debussy a Cage o Lachenmann. Kris Davis profundiza en el legado de compositores como el autor de<i> 4.33 <\/i>y tambi\u00e9n de Feldman, sin olvidar a los europeos, para trasladarlo a un s\u00f3lido lenguaje de improvisaci\u00f3n. Draksler tambi\u00e9n persigue ese fin pero sin obviar un dise\u00f1o del sonido m\u00e1s suavizado y enfundado en una respiraci\u00f3n mel\u00f3dica que le confiere un matiz na\u00edf y algo pop a su estilo. Por eso en el primer corte parece que s\u00f3lo falta que cante para que los modos repetitivos y algo \u201casc\u00e9ticos\u201d nos recuerden a Wim Mertens.
